Match screen size and resolution to viewing distance, then confirm the graphics device can drive your chosen refresh rate.

A larger screen can make documents and split windows easier to see, but the ideal resolution depends on size, viewing distance, operating-system scaling, and your eyesight. Compare panel type, brightness, contrast, surface finish, stand adjustment, and pixel density rather than judging by resolution alone. If you work for long periods, height adjustment and comfortable positioning may matter more than a marginal specification upgrade.
Check refresh and connection limits
A high refresh rate can make motion look smoother, but the computer, graphics hardware, monitor input, and cable must all support the target resolution and refresh rate together. Read the exact timing table in the monitor documentation. USB-C may carry video, data, and charging, but port capabilities and power output vary. A dock can add convenience while also introducing its own bandwidth limits.
Think about daily use
For office work, a reliable stand, useful USB hub, and text clarity may be more valuable than a gaming feature. For games, compare variable refresh support, response behavior as specified by the maker, and the console or PC's output. Check warranty, dead-pixel policy, and return conditions before ordering. Compare published model specifications and avoid treating one manufacturer's marketing measure as directly comparable with another's.
