Check the available update method

Visit UIDAI's Aadhaar update pages to see whether the address change can be completed online for your account or requires a centre visit. Online availability, accepted documents, service steps and fees may change. Begin from UIDAI's own site or app rather than following a short link sent by an unknown person.

Match the evidence to the request

Use the current UIDAI list of acceptable address documents and make sure the submitted details are legible and consistent with the form. Do not upload another person's document unless UIDAI's applicable process explicitly allows it. If using a head-of-family or other supported mechanism, read its eligibility and consent requirements carefully before proceeding.

Save the acknowledgement and protect identity data

Keep the update request number and check status through the official portal. Never share an OTP with an agent or caller claiming to complete the update, and do not publish an Aadhaar image unnecessarily. If a request fails, use UIDAI's official support guidance to determine the next step instead of paying an intermediary that guarantees approval.
